Timi Olagunju is a recipient of several awards for his distinction in open development and leadership, including an award from President Obama and the Lead City University.
Timi is a Technology Lawyer and professional speaker with core capacity in Open Governance, Leadership Management, and Youth Engagement. He litigated and defended the rights of communities in a number of high profile cases, some of which involved the Nigerian President (https://ynaija.com/who-wins-president-jonathan-sued-by-young-lawyer-over-fgs-youwin-program), and others involving public utilities such as Power Holding Company of Nigeria.
Recently, Timi was a Research Fellow at the Global Integrity in Washington DC, working on the ‘Africa Integrity Report’ sponsored by the ‘Mo Ibrahim Foundation’ proposing how stakeholders can be more engaged in achieving a more open Africa. In previous year, he has made a few presentations on the subject of open governance and open elections at the Department of State’s Educational Affairs Division, National Democratic Institute (NDI) Washington, and Association of Public and Land Grants Universities (APLGU) in Washington.
He is the co-founder, Youths in Motion (YIM), which operates actively in Nigeria, Liberia, Ghana, and New York, as a movement focused on promoting institutional opportunities for Young People across Africa and in the diaspora. One of YIM’s signature program is Democracy in Action (http://presidentialprecinct.org/psx-html), which promotes democracy by providing the platform for young leaders to closely interact with parliamentarians at a State level.
He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), a member of the International Association of Information Technology Lawyers (IAITL), a fellow of the Presidential Precinct, a founding member of Commonwealth Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAYE) – West Africa.
He has authored and co-authored books namely: ‘The Hustlers’ Mentality’, ‘ and ‘Yes Africa Can’.
